Hotel California part II

Hotel California Intro

The information to follow is intended for you to learn how to pick different parts out of the song. It is also intended for you to play the chords in locations other than the standard open position. Hotel California is a great song to learn because it uses everything you need to learn to be a great guitar player. Notice how the chords illustrated below contain different types of fingering. You will find the D chord played at the 5th and the 10th fret positions. You will find the F# chord played at the 2nd, 6th and 9th fret positions. It is suggested that you learn to play all of these chords. For those of you who haven't played these type of chords, you're really encouraged to learn them.

To begin, it may be easiest to just strum the chords with the song before picking the tablature included. Once you get a feel for the song, begin to pick each note as illustrated.

First Verse You can either pick the tab above or you can strum the chords illustrated. It is a good idea to just strum the chords first to get a feel for the rhythm. It will also get you up on playing the chords as shown.
